Being offered for sale is an investment grade, highly original, beautifully restored, fully documented, rare NA9 California Emissions, 1970 LT-1 Coupe. Out of a total 1970 LT-1 production of 1,287, only approximately 80 Coupes were built with the NA9 California Emissions option. The rarity is just one of the factors which make this 1970 Mulsanne Blue LT-1 Coupe so special. Adding to its distinction it’s the coveted Judging Awards the car has  received, which include: 2011 NCRS Duntov Award of Excellence; 2011 NCRS National Top Flight Award; 2011NCRS Regional Top Flight Award; 2010 NCRS Performance Verification Award; 2009 NCRS Regional Top Flight Award; and 2009 Bloomington Gold Certification. This is a 1970 LT-1, which has been examined by the Corvette hobby’s most discriminating and experienced judges and found to be of outstanding quality in terms of its originality and condition. The car today presents as it did the day it left the St. Louis Assembly Plant in early April of 1970.

In addition to its impressive awards, equally important, as an investment grade Corvette, is the car’s unequaled documentation, which  includes: the Corvette Order Copy (Tank Sheet); Warranty Book (Protect-O-Plate); NCRS Documented Dealer Delivery Information, photographic documentation of its body off restoration; and complete owner history, with registrations going back to the original owner.

This 1970 Mulsanne Blue LT-1 Coupe was built March 31, 1970 and purchased from Lew Williams Chevrolet in Sacramento, California, by the original owner, on July 22, 1970. The original owner drove the car until January 1, 1987, when he put it into storage with 49,651 miles. It stayed in storage until April 26, 1993, when it was sold to a neighbor, the second owner, an experienced Corvette restorer, who undertook a year long  body-off restoration of the car using all original parts. This car has no aftermarket or reproduction parts. The original parts were rebuilt or restored to their original appearance and when needed New Old Stock parts were acquired. The car was repainted in base coat / clear coat, which today presents as a fresh exterior finish. The restoration is documented with photographs and an itemized list of all work done.

Upon completing the restoration, the owner/restorer presented the car for NCRS Judging, where it achieved a Top Flight Award with a score of 99.3 points out of 100. The outstanding quality of the restoration resulted in the car being featured in All Chevy Magazine in October 1994. The car currently has just over 52,000 miles, approximately 2,400 miles since the restoration was completed 18 years ago. This is a Corvette which has been appreciated and well cared for by the collectors who have experienced the pleasure of owning this rare and absolutely stunning 1970 LT-1 Coupe.

All awards and judging sheets are available for inspection.
