1965 was a very important year in the development of Corvette performance. It marked the introduction of the 396ci/425hp big block engine, four wheel disc brakes and side mounted exhaust. These advancements quickly catapulted Corvette to the head of the Muscle Car pack and the coupe's structural rigidity made it the ideal body style to handle the awesome power of the new big block engine.
This beautifully restored highly original Goldwood Yellow 1965 Coupe has it all. All engine components—heads, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, alternator, starter, carburetor, distributor, etc. are correct and properly date coded. The interior, which is in excellent condition, is completely original, with the exception of the driver side door panel and carpet.
This car is perhaps the most extensively documented 1965 Corvette in the United States. It's unusual documentation is in part do to the original owner opting for a very rare factory delivery pick up, with unique paper work related to this non-customary delivery. The documentation also includes: the Original Order Form, Shipper Sheet; Window Sticker; Protect-O-Plate booklet and copies of all the Bill of Sales detailing the ownership history to the original owner. The car comes with the NCRS and Bloomington Gold judging sheets.
